Kansas State University contracted BG Consultants to design construction documents for the overhaul of the Bill Snyder Family Stadium parking lot. With an area of 17 acres, it is one of the biggest lots on campus. The lot saw daily use from Bramlage Coliseum traffic, as well as large influxes of population during football and basketball games and graduation ceremonies. Due to age and deterioration, the parking lot needed replacement.

The project required smooth coordination between BG and various K-State parties, including the basketball staff. BG provided K-State with three replacement options, each with a different cost value. The university chose a double bituminous surface treatment with a fog seal on top. BG’s design also incorporated site lighting. Because of the lot’s high demand, construction took place over a brief, 46-day period to minimize inconvenience to university patrons.
