BG Consultants was hired to author a comprehensive Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) that reviewed the entire Fredonia sewer system including collection system, lift station and wastewater treatment facility. The report outlined all the necessary sanitary sewer system improvements needed to bring the system into an industry standard operational condition.
The existing sanitary sewer collection system consists of approximately 142,750 LFT of eight- to 24-inch diameter gravity sewer main and 445 manholes. BG Consultants evaluated CCTV inspection data and made recommendations for rehabilitation.
Improvements include: Pipe Bursting approximately 30,0000 LFT Sanitary Sewer main, CIPP rehabilitation over 60,000 LFT of 6” to 24” Sanitary Sewer main, point repairs of sewer pipe at deteriorated locations, service tap replacements, and manhole rehabilitation.
Professional Engineering Communication was a constant condition throughout the project. This included City council presentations, city staff work sessions, public meetings and coordination with USDA Rural Development, the Kansas Department of Commerce (KDOC) and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE).
