BG Consultants was contracted to design the expansion of Clarenburg Trail to an 8’ wide trail on the east side of City Park, extending south of Fremont Street to the intersection of Poyntz Avenue. The trail deviates from the previous alignment, staying within 11th Street and connecting to Johnny Kaw Plaza. The new trail includes ADA accessible ramps and crosswalk pavement markings at the intersection of 11th Street/Osage Street and 11th Street/Leavenworth Street. A new raised crosswalk was installed for the trail as it crosses the East City Park Road.

The west leg of the 11th Street and Leavenworth Street intersection was assessed for potential surface drainage improvements. BG investigated the feasibility of improving the storm drainage by installing inlets and underground storm drainage piping west to the existing area inlet system.
