Working closely with the City of Emporia and Quik Trip, BG Consultants developed a long-range development plan for a large-scale mixed-use development on the north side of the I-35 & US-50 interchange and west of Graphic Arts Rd. in Emporia, KS.
BG Consultants completed a boundary survey and a topographic survey for the site. These were the base elements of the preliminary and final plat, the site grading plan, and the design of public infrastructure to support the development. Planning included a complex traffic study which was ultimately used by the City and property owner to negotiate direct access to KDOT’s interchange. Stormwater analysis was also included in the planning as the project directly impacted DWR regulated floodways and Waters of the U.S. regulated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Phase 1 of the site development process included design of the public infrastructure improvements. Street, storm sewer, waterline and sanitary sewer construction plans were developed and approved through the City of Emporia and KDOT.
