In 2023, BG Consultants, Inc. contracted the KSU Livestock Competition Arena and Horse Unit project, located at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS. BG Consultants provided the Civil/Site design services for the project. 

The project included 29,700 SY of gravel surfacing, 2,600 SY of concrete pavement, 2,800 LFT of curb and gutter, 130 LFT of retaining wall, and 3,155 LFT of storm sewer. Utility extensions included 1,370 LFT of water line and 275’ of sanitary service lines.

Coordination with the City of Manhattan North Campus Corridor Kimball Avenue improvement project, also designed by BG Consultants, was a necessity for this project. BG Consultants was able to facilitate the coordination between the University and the City. The coordination between the two projects also allowed for reduced soil haul costs for the combined project eliminating the need for contractor furnished borrow on the site.
