St. Thomas More Sanctuary Improvements

St. Thomas More Sanctuary Improvements

Manhattan, KS
United States

The St. Thomas More Catholic Church renovation project in Manhattan, Kansas aimed to improve the overall functionality and aesthetic of the interior and exterior church spaces. The renovation included upgrades to the interior floor and wall finishes with new carpeting and porcelain title, providing a fresh, ecclesial look and feel to the Sanctuary, Altar, and Gathering Area. The restrooms were also updated to provide durable, low maintenance materials and modern fixtures for the staff and parishioners. The church was equipped with new lighting which brought in a religious ambiance, and fresh paint that added to the aesthetics. The renovation further included the installation of new oak pews, a semi-immersion baptismal font, a new custom limestone altar, and a new custom limestone pulpit, which all work to add to the spiritual experience of church functions.

The design process was led by BG Consultants, who worked closely with the church staff to ensure the design retained the consecrated environment of the church with modern upgrades. Alloy Architecture provided interior design consulting. The construction phase was executed by BHS, who bought in their expertise with religious construction to ensure that the project was delivered to the highest standards. The renovation project transformed St. Thomas More Catholic Church into a more welcoming and visually appealing environment for parishioners to enjoy and admire during mass, holy days, and events for years to come.
